What is subluxation?
Our Nervous System
The brain controls everything in our bodies. The brain communicates with every cell through the central nervous system, which is made up of the brain, spinal cord and spinal nerves. It is vital that communication is open between the brain and the other parts of the body. When communication is impaired it is impossible to be healthy because some part of the body is not going to function correctly.
To better understand this, imagine a water hose that is watering a plant. When everything is working, as it should, the hose gives plenty of water to the plant from the well.
However, if a person steps on the hose, not enough water will get through to the plant. Eventually the plant will die because it is not getting enough water from the well. The body works in a similar way. Imagine the spinal cord as a hose from the brain giving information to the rest of the body.
When all the information is getting through, all the organs can function, heal and make new cells the way that they should. However, if there is pressure on the nervous system not all of the information will get through and you cannot be healthy and function the way that you should. The bones of the spine are called vertebrae and can move out of place putting pressure on the spinal cord and nerves. This is called SUBLUXATION.
Why are subluxations bad?
Research shows that even the weight of a dime on a spinal nerve can decrease communication by up to 60%. This means that whatever that nerve goes to, whether it is a kidney, eyes, skin, etc., it is only receiving 40% of what it needs from the brain. You cannot feel if your body is not functioning correctly until it reaches a critical point. For instance, a person who has heart disease actually has years of malfunction before they ever feel symptoms of heart trouble. This is why it is very important that everyone gets checked for subluxations even if they don’t feel any symptoms.
How do subluxations occur?
Subluxations occur from everyday activities… even from the birth process itself. It is important that children get checked for subluxations so that they can grow at their full health potential and save themselves from many health problems in the future.
